Am I Entitled To Receive Any Of My First Husband's Social Security Benefits?
I was married over 30 years before divorcing. I later remarried but my second husband died after 3 years of marriage. My first husband also remarried but his marriage ended in divorce after 2 years.
My first husband is yet living as is his second wife. We are all in our 80’s.
Am I entitled to collect any of my first husband’s social security benefits? I was not awarded anything in the divorce.

How Will Our Client's SS Benefits Be Affected By A Rollover Of Her 401A Account?
We have a client with a 401A, non covered retirement account and is leaving their employer. They have no prior substantial earnings years. They are starting a new covered job and plan to work there for many years.
if we choose to roll this 401A to an IRA now (she is 40 yrs old today), and we take distributions from that IRA beginning age 60, when she takes her SS benefit at FRA, how is the SS benefit affected?

Can I Buy A Car For My Relative Who Is On SSI?
Can I purchase a used car for a relative on Ssi and give it to them. Or does it have to be gifted.
Hi.. I don't believe that giving a car to a person receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) would have any adverse effect on their benefits, assuming that the person doesn't already own a car. SSI excludes a home and one automobile from counting as assets for purposes of SSI eligibility. However, my expertise on the SSI program is limited, so you should check with an SSI expert at the Social Security Administration before following through with your plan . . . Read More

If I Reach FRA In December 2022 Can I Start My Benefits In January 2022?
I reach my FRA in December, 2022. Can I begin SS benefits in January, 2022 since it is the year of my FRA? I will be reducing my work hours and plan to use my SS benefit to make up some of the shortfall. I will make over the yearly limit. If I make 27k over the limit during that year will my SS benefit be reduced ~9,000? Do you receive reduced benefits monthly or do they not send a check until that 9,000 is paid off? Thanks!
Hi. If you'll reach full retirement age (FRA) in December 2022 and if you apply for your benefits effective with January of that year . . . Read More
