How Can I Get My Husband's SS To File For A Divorce?

How can I get my husbands SS# to file for a divorce?

Hi. You can't be awarded any of your husband's Social Security benefits or credits as part of a divorce settlement if that's what you're asking. However, if you get divorced and if you' were married for at least 10 years then you could potentially qualify for divorced spousal benefits on your ex-husband's Social Security record when and if you meet the requirements. Those requirements are outlined in the following section of Social Security's handbook: https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.03/handbook-0311.html.

Best, Jerry
