Is It Worth It To Challenge Social Security's Decision To Disallow Benefits For My Disabled Son?

Social security is denying payment to my 4 year old son who has been classified as disabled because they say we are over resources because we have two cars. One car we are paying on to it has been excepted but my husbands truck is paid off and they are stating it is worth a lot more than it is. On top of that, the truck has a lien against it because it is being held as collateral for a tractor loan that he has. And even worse is the truck is not worth much because it needs a new engine but we can’t sell it for what we owe on the tractor. Is this worth fighting for?

Is It Possible For Me To Get Full SSI Payments?

If I've been drawing my SSI and I'm not going to be able to work any more and have been drawing it for more than 20 years or more is it possible that I can get my full income SSI payments how do this work what I have to do to see what I have to do

Hi. By "SSI", I'm not sure if you mean Supplemental Security Income (SSI) or regular Social Security benefits. The amount of a person's regular Social Security benefit normally doesn't change unless they work and earn additional Social Security covered earnings after they start drawing.

What Is My Best Option?

Larry,
I was told by a social security agent my Spousal Benefit would add $600 to my total monthly income, so I accepted my Spousal Benefit about a month ago.
However the Spousal Benefit increase stopped my SSI disability benefit and possibly Medicaid and stopped my EBT food stamp benefits and now my income is at least $200 less per month. I want to stop my spousal benefit and have my old benefits and income back.
What a mess, should I file
request for reconsideration,
or file request for withdrawal, or file for misinformation,

Can You Tell Me Why Social Security Did This?

When social security used to send letters out, they said that my income work credits were 36.
Then when my Mom passed away in 2017, and left me assets...my SSI was terminated. I didn't ask right away for my benefits to be "reinstated" because I still had enough money (but still over the asset limit for SSI).
Then, after I hurt my leg in an accident, I tried to get my benefits reinstated. But they said I waited too long, and I has to really all over again.
Now, they say that I only have 31 credits, and I won't qualify for retirement, or medicare.

Is There Anything I Can Do To Avoid Being Forced To Take A Reduced Benefit?

I’ve been disabled since 2003 yet due to being a full time mom not enough work points so receiving ssi in Oklahoma, I turn 62this Jan 2022. I’m eligible for ex spousal social security retirement on his record. He’s 67 & just filed for his. Why am I not getting half on his? My ssi check stops now. Why am I being punished because I became disabled in 2003? They cut it by 37%, Is there anything I can do to stop this? I was not granted alimony due to his ability to hire a high dollar attorney. Ideas?

Can Social Security Deduct My Food Stamps From My SSI?

Can social security use my food stamps as other income other then SSI ? Because they short my checks the amount I get in food stamps. My worker told me they don’t hold it against me, yes they obviously do. I am paying for my food stamps dollar for dollar every month. If that’s the case then they should deduct the amount people get in food stamps from the amount of money welfare gives needy families.
