Can I Suspend My Benefit At FRA?

I filed for ex spouse benefits at 62 the person at social sec. Misunderstood me and thought I was retiring. I am now 65 still working and they ended up turning my benefit on at that time. I receive 2 checks a year and have been trying to get this corrected and so far have not been successful. Can I suspend my benefit at FRA if this is not corrected ? I am still working and will work for a couple more years. Thankuoum

Is This True?

Money Morning is sending information about under payment of social security benefits for seniors over 50 yrs of age on social security. They claim a person could be owed as much as 10's of thousands of dollars. Is this one of those bait e-mails to get you to purchase some kind of product or service?

Would The Fact That I'm Receiving My Ex-Husband's Pension Have Any Effect On My Social Security Benefits?

In my divorce after 27 years of marriage I have been receiving my ex's pension......I am now thinking of collecting social security...since I did not earn this and it was part of divorce decree....does this have any effect on my SS benefits.

Is Social Security Taxed Differently If You're A Green Card Holder Living Outside Of The U.S.?

Is SS taxed differently if you are a green card holder and living outside of the U.S.?
How is SS affected if the green card expires?
Are the answers different if the person has no work record and receives SS from a U.S citizen spouse's record?
What happens if the spouse dies and the person is not a citizen and lives outside of the U.S.?

Hi,

My expertise is limited to Social Security benefits, and taxation of Social Security benefits is an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) provision. So, I'm unable to fully answer your questions.

Why Didn't I Receive My Social Security Today?

Wy I didn't receive my social security today

Hi,

I'm sorry, but I wouldn't have any way of knowing that. It wouldn't have anything to do with the partial government shutdown, though, because Social Security benefits will continue to be paid during the shutdown. You'll probably want to try calling Social Security to see if they can explain why you didn't receive your benefit payment.

Best, Jerry

Do You Know If I Qualify For State Insurance?

Hello Larry
I’m hoping you can help me
I have recently moved to Lake Havasu City Arizona with my 10 year old son after my husbands passing due to Lymphoma in August 2016.
My son and I collect survivors benefits each receiving $1834 a month.
I recently applied in Arizona Marketplace insurance during enrollment period and the system referred us to ACCESS which is AZ Medicade from what I understand.

Is My Sister's Husband Blowing Smoke Or Telling The Truth?

My sister, age 79, has always had her SS benefit check deposited to her husband's account. Now that she is separated from him, she would like to have her SS check sent directly to her. Her husband told her that he opted years ago to take a higher benefit amount and that their SS benefits ended Dec 2018, so there will not be any more SS benefits for them. Is he blowing smoke or could he really be telling her the truth? Thank you.
Sincerely,
Michelle
