Does Failing To File Taxes Affect My SS Benefit Amount?

Does not filing taxes for years affect my SS monthly amount?

Hi. Failing to file tax returns wouldn't affect your Social Security benefit rate as long as you still paid Social Security taxes on your earnings. Employers withhold and pay Social Security taxes for covered wage earners, so workers get credit for those earnings even if they don't pay income taxes.

What Do I Need To Do If I Change Bank Accounts?

If your monthly allotment is direct deposit, and the account the account for the account has been closed, and a new account has been opened in the same facility will, Social Security transfer the allotment to the new account?
If the allotment is not deposited, what EXACTLY WOULD I NEED TO DO MAKE THE ADJUSTMENT? Personally, I’d rather SPEAK WITH SOMEONE IN PERSON. AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Today’s date is September 2, 2021.
Thank You,
Sylvia

Isn't Social Security Robbing Us Of Our First Month Of Benefits?

I don't understand that SS holds your first monthly payment. But then when you die family only gets 255 towards burial or cremation. I thought if they holding first monthly check back, it'd be good to pay my mom's bills for death month. I paid her bills on time, due big of example: Sept 1st she was in no state to talk. She left them for me to get them paid. Cause we've always thought that would be last pymt month. Ss paying us back for withholding my first month, I never got? Makes sense like that.

Does Receiving Social Security Benefits Affect SNAP Benefits?

Does receiving social security benefits affect SNAP benefits

Hi. My area of expertise is limited to Social Security benefits. I have no special knowledge of the SNAP benefit program, but since the the SNAP program is needs based I assume that Social Security income is counted when determining if a person is eligible for SNAP benefits (https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/eligibility/elderly-disabled-special-rules...?).

How Can My Friend's Daughter Get Access To Her Social Security Funds At Wells Fargo Bank?

I am writing on behalf of a retired friend. He married late in life, had 3 children when he began drawing SS retirement benefits in 2010. The 3 kids have received SS monthly deposits into their own savings account, but linked to the father. The kids are now over 18 years old. The family relocated to France in 2010.

What Do I Need To Get Extra Money To Cover Bills?

how's get extra money to cover billls & food & etc. what's we need?

Hi. My expertise is limited to Social Security benefits, and without knowing things like your age, earnings and marital history, and whether or not you are disabled, I can't tell you what if any benefits you might qualify for. Social Security's website (i.e. https://www.ssa.gov/) has information about applying for benefits, so you may want to start there.

Best, Jerry

Can Social Security Cut Out My Husband's Benefits?

My husband has worked in the overseas oil fields for years. He rarely paid SS because it was foreign companies. We invested and saved, knowing we wouldn’t have much SS. Now that he is retired, at 67, the SS is asking us to provide our IRA and other savings information. They said they might cut out his $1587. benefit altogether. Is this allowed?
