How Do I Obtain A Copy Of My Ex-Husband's Death Certificate?

My ex-husband divorced me years ago, and at that time he had Alzheimers. However, he had impreganated another woman, and I gave him a divorce so that he could have a family. That was thirty (30) years ago. I know that people with Alzheimers do not live longer than ten (10) years after they have been diagnosed with the disease. The problem is I can't find a death certificate in his name. I can't re-marry because we were married, in "the high church", in the style of a Catholic wedding. Where should I look? How do I obtain a copy of his death certificate, please?

Will Receiving Half Of My Husband's Pension Affect My Social Security?

My ex husband has to give me 1/2 his pension earned from a police officer job that he paid no social security on. It was in our MSA. I receive it every month. They paid into a private pension plan while working. He is retired from there and that's why I get it now.

My question is will it affect my social security when I reach retirement age or am I okay?

What Would Happen To My Divorced Spousal Benefits If I Remarry?

Hi Larry, I am recently turned 65 years, have been receiving SSDI since 2011. I earn limited income which I keep under the current SGA. Last year I also began receiving Spousal Benefits from a previous marriage that lasted over 10 years. How do Spousal Benefits from a previous marriage figure into what I would receive if I were to get remarried now that I am 65 years of age? And what if my ex-husband passes away before I remarry? Is there any increased benefit to getting married / will I benefit from my new husband's record or actually lose benefits?

How Can I Get My Ex-Husband's Benefits That He Was Ordered To Pay Me In His Divorce?

In my divorce, I was give the now ex-husband's Social Security. When he retired. He has been collecting it, and refused to give the money to me. He tells me if I want it have Social Security give it to you. Social Security tells me that they do not have to give me the money even if it is court order. In short the girl told me the Social Security does not have to do what is court ordered. She told me that he has to give it to me.

Can I Get In Trouble For Investing Money In Crypto?

I’m 67 years old can I invested a little money in crypto can I get in trouble

Hi. Not as far as Social Security benefits are concerned. No type of investment income would affect any type of Social Security benefits you might be receiving. The only type of benefit that Social Security pays that could be affected by investment income is Supplemental Security Income (SSI).

Best, Jerry

How Long Does It Take To Start Getting Benefits Once You File?

How long does it take to start getting benefits once you file?

Hi. Processing times vary, but if a person is due immediate payment and if no documentation is required to process their claim then Social Security payments can sometimes arrive within 10 days of the person's application date. I would guesstimate that the average processing time is more like 30 to 60 days, though.

What Is The Correct Procedure For Getting My Birthdate Corrected In Social Security's Records?

Hello Larry,

I have purchased Maximize My Social Security & MaxFi Planner, both excellent software.
I will apply for SS soon, I am 66.
My question is…
The SS records show my birth date as 1954 but it is actually 1955 as shown on birth certificate.
What is the correct procedure for the records correction?
My local office, Syracuse, NY will not answer the phone or schedule an appointment.
I have a certified copy of my 1955 birth certificate.
Thank You so much!

John
