Is It True That A Person Must Be Alive For A Full Month To Get Their Payment For That Month?

My mother passed away February 23, 2022. She was in a nursing home under medicaid. Her February social security benefit was deposited on March 3, 2022. I used that money to pay the nursing home which was required of medicaid patients. Social security also deposited her benefit for March on April 1, 2022. I recently received a notice that Social security had rescinded both those payments and her account is not left with a negative balance of $952. Is this legal? How do I get that February payment back?

Did You Know That The Statements Provided By Social Security Have Significant Math Errors?

Are you aware that the new Your Social Security Statement published by the SSA has significant math errors in the calculation of benefits amounts for the ages 67, 68, and 69? About 6 months ago the SSA revised that statement to include a section that shows the amount of potential benefits at each year from FRA until 70. But the amounts do not match the 8% increase figures which are correctly shown on special pages for each year like this one for my birth year, 1956.

Is It Correct That Social Security Must Be Notified By Phone If Someone Who's Getting Benefits Dies?

A retired Japanese gentleman receives Social Security and so does his wife, on spousal benefits. He expects to die soon. The website says SSA must be notified in by phone. It also says she can get his benefit after he passes. I have learned from your books that you cannot count on what they say, so I'm asking you as a favor to a dying man.

Can My Spouse And I At Age 84 Maximize Out Social Security?

Can I and my spouse at 84 years old maximize out Social Security?

Hi. I'm not sure what you mean. If you and your spouse are in your 80s and collecting Social Security benefits, then you're probably getting as much as you can get. It's possible that you may qualify for additional benefits, but there's not enough information in your question for me to know if that's a possibility.

What Do I Need To Do If I Want To Invest In Cryptocurrency?

Hi, I have been on SSDI for the longest time (and for a while on SSI, till I got in trouble for investing in mutual funds). After paying off my debt, I applied for the SSI program again. My job's pay is erratic & impossible to pay the expenses of the cost of living. I want to get off my dependency of Social Security, but I don't want to get burned again by investing in cryptocurrency. Do I report any earnings I garner with cryptocurrency the same way I report my earnings to the SSDI &/or SSI programs?

How Do I Get A Copy Of My Social Security Card?

Get copy of social security ss card number

Hi. I'm assuming you need a replacement Social Security card. If so, you may be able to apply for one online. Otherwise, you'll need to complete a paper application to submit to Social Security with required evidence. Either way, you should follow the instructions on the following Social Security website: https://www.ssa.gov/ssnumber/.

How Can I Find Out What My Husband's Social Security Number Is?

I was married to a man on or about 10/22/2009, we were together for MAYBE a month when I discovered he was using drugs. One day while under the influence he punched me in the throat. Amazingly I survived that, but he then contacted the police. I know I did nothing back to him, but he had a small scratch on his face. He told the police a bunch of lies and the police Baker Acted me. I was released after them determining I was fine. While I was being held for 72 hours, my husband filed for a restraining order. I was not allowed to return to my home.

Will I Receive Two Payments From Social Security Or Just One?

I have a pension of $3916 making me subject to reductions with both WEP and GPO. I am turning 65 this year. I purchased access to your software and entered the WEP/GPO information. My benefit amount with WEP and the survivor benefit with GPO seem to match what the Social Security office told me. However, the reports show a net benefit column that is equal to the sum of my benefit (subject to WEP) and the survivor benefit (subject to GPO) added together. This is contrary to what the Social Security office told me. They said I would receive only the higher of the two benefits.

What Should I Do To Get My SSDI Benefits Reinstated?

They suspended my ssdi benefits, but told me in December they would reinstate them in 20 or 30 business days. Now we are April and my benefits are still in suspended status what should I do?

Hi. There's not enough information for me to be able to give you any specific advice, but it sounds like your first step should be to call Social Security to check on the status of your benefit reinstatement. Only Social Security has access to your records, so they should be able to explain what's going on.
