What Should I Do To Get My SSDI Benefits Reinstated?

They suspended my ssdi benefits, but told me in December they would reinstate them in 20 or 30 business days. Now we are April and my benefits are still in suspended status what should I do?

Hi. There's not enough information for me to be able to give you any specific advice, but it sounds like your first step should be to call Social Security to check on the status of your benefit reinstatement. Only Social Security has access to your records, so they should be able to explain what's going on.

Another thing that you may want to consider doing is to contact the offices of your U.S. congressional representative or one of your senators. Oftentimes, an inquiry to Social Security made by a congressperson on behalf of a constituent can expedite the resolution of their problem.

Best, Jerry
