Will My Sister Be Entitled To The $1200 Stimulus Check?

My sister has a mental disability and lives in a group home in New York City. She receives both SSI and Social Security, and both payments are received and managed by a representative payee in the home where she lives. I don't know if her checks are automatically deposited in an account or sent as a check. Will she be entitled to the $1200 COVID 19 stimulus check? If yes, what will be the responsibility of the representative payee to make sure she gets the stimulus funds?

Do I Need To Report My Mother's Death To Social Security?

I've been on SSDI for over 25 years for a mental condition. I receive 2 checks, 1 Disability check and 1 Survivors check. I lived with my Mother for all this time in her house. She died in March. Do I have to report her death to social security? I have to move soon. Do I need to report to social security when I move? Will the amounts of the checks I receive be the same or less when I move? Thanks.

If I have a payee and direct deposit with social security will my stimulus check go to them

Hi,

I'm sorry, but my expertise is limited to Social Security benefits. I'm not able to answer any questions about stimulus payments, income taxes, or unemployment benefits. The IRS has issued the following information regarding stimulus payments: https://www.irs.gov/newsroom/economic-impact-payments-what-you-need-to-know.

Is This How Social Security's Site Works?

I applied for my spousal benefits with the intention of filing for my own benefits at age 70. Note that I was born in 1951 so it was my understanding that I would be able to apply for spousal benefits first and wait till 70 to maximize my benefits. However, when I go to my social security account my benefits amounts no longer show. Is that the way the site works? Mote I am a user of maxi planner and are following the suggested recommendations to maximize retirement income.

How Can I Get My Direct Deposit Changed To A New Account Faster?

I JUST APPLIED AND WHEN I CHANGED MY CHECKING ACCT NUMBER, IT SAY IT WILL START IN, JUNE I NEED IT TO START IN APRIL, NOT JUNE IF ITS IS NOT CHANGED MY FIRST DEPOSIT WILL BE SENT BACK FOR HAVING WRONG ACT NUMBER.

Hi,

I don't know what to tell you, except that it takes time to process changes to a person's address and/or direct deposit account. Social Security cautions people not to close the bank accounts where their payments are being deposited until after their payments have started going to their new account.
