What Happens To My Wife's Benefits If I'm Still Working?

I am 53, my wife is 59. Due to parkinsons diagnosis for my wife we are attempting to get her on SSA Disability. With or without that happening around age 60 for her, at age 62 likely would take her normal social security, but wonder what happens since I will still be working current job/career until she reaches medicare age at least (i'll be 59 myself). We have decent 401K/IRA situation in all tax deferred accounts.

Can My Social Security Be Taken Away If I Sell My House?

If i sell my house and receive money for it can my social security be taken away

Hi. No. Selling your home would have absolutely no effect on your benefits provided that you are receiving Social Security benefits. However, if you are receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI), those benefits could stop if you sell your home. Unlike Social Security benefits, SSI benefits are needs based. Therefore, changes in a person's income and/or resources can affect their eligibility for SSI benefits.

Do I Need To Report DIC Payments From The VA To Social Security?

Do I have to report DIC from the VA to Social Security???

Hi. Not if you receive Social Security benefits, but if you're receiving Supplemental Security Income (SSI) then you need to report any other income you receive. SSI is needs based, so any type of other income can potentially affect a person's SSI eligibility or payment amount.

Is There Any Reason Why My Mother Didn't Receive Her Social Security Check This Month?

My mother has always received her social security (from my dad’s earnings - he is deceased) on the third. She receives assistance and is classified as a QI (qualifying individual). Today is the fourth and her check has not deposited? Any reason why? SHE IS VERY DISTRAUGHT- she is 81 and very worried). Your help is appreciated.

Can I Still Collect My Deceased Mother's Funds From Her Retirement Account?

Hello, my mother died about 30 years ago at the age of 52. I was 24 years old and did not know anything about collecting her social security funds. She had worked about 25 years at ATT and had money coming to her. I am asking now, can I still collect her funds from her retirement account? She was not married to my dad the 10 years required so I thought the kids get her funds, but I could be wrong.
