Applied for social security disability at age 62 and passed away at age 64.they said I could only collect 25% as a widow. I received 932 in benefits and 400 for widow. His monthly was 1683.monthly why would I not receive more benefits from him. When he passed 2 days b4 end of month. I lost his benefits income. On the 3rd.I lost our house and vehicles.had to move in with my daughter. Not enough coming in to cover the house and car payments.

If My Wife Starts Her Benefits Two Years Early And I Die, Will She Get Full Survivor Benefits?

II CLAIM AT 70 AND MY WIFE CLAIMS 2 YEARS EARLY. IF I DIE WILL SHE GET FULL SURVIVOUR BENIFITS

Hi. If your wife is at least full retirement age (FRA) when she claims survivor benefits, she'd be eligible for the higher of a) your full benefit rate including your delayed retirement credits, or b) her own benefit rate. That would be true even if she starts drawing her own benefits and/or spousal benefits prior to her FRA.

If I Die Before Filing For Benefits How Would My Spouse's Benefits Be Calculated?

If I do not file for any Retirement Benefits from SSA, and should die before filing, how are my spouses benefits calculated? My FRA benefit is 1630. per month. I am 65, my spouse is 44, and would only qualify for a spousal benefit at her FRA, even i dont file for benefits? How would that amount be calculated?

Is This Legal?

My friend lost her husband who was a high income earner, whereas she was a stay at home mother with no education past high school. Unfortunately she wasn't left much for herself due to some bad investment decisions by her husband. She fell in love a few years after her husband passed and remarried in her 50s. She did not know she would lose her deceased husband's social security benefit if she remarried.

Can I Start Collecting Widow's Benefits Without An Earnings Limit At Age 66 Since I Was Born In 1956?

I plan to file for widow benefits first when i reach my full FRA. I was born in June 1956. I will be 66 in June of 2022. My full FRA for my benefits is 66 and 4 months. Is it true i can file for widow benefit and star receiving benefits at age 66 (4 months earlier) without the penalty of having $1 deduct if i make over 18,960. I plan to keep working until 67 - 68. I don't want to loss 4 months of benefits if they are available without penalty.

Does The Exception To The Nine-Month Marriage Requirement For Widow's Benefits Apply Only To An Accidental Death?

Re: Nine-Month Duration of Marriage Requirement Section 404 I was denied collecting on my deceased spouse's social security because we were married for only 2 months at the time of his death. The exception to this requirement is if, at the time of the marriage, the insured could not reasonably have been expected to live for nine months. Does this exception apply only to accidental death and not illness? My husband died from leukemia.

Hi,

I'm sorry for your loss.

Do I Have To Wait Until My Full Retirement Age (FRA) To File For My Deceased Husband's Benefits Without A Penalty?

I will be 65 in June of 2021. I am still working full time and hope to keep working until 67. My husband passed away in 2017 at 69. He was collecting his SS at a reduced rate when he was 64.
I plan to file for widows benefits as soon as i can without a penalty. Do i have to wait until i am 66 4 months to file for my deceased husbands benefits without a penalty or can i apply earlier at 65? I will be switching to my benefits at 70.
Thank you!

Hi,
