What Does My Wife Need To Do?

After the new law, we purchased your software, and followed your direction on file and suspend and now my wife has filed for and received spousal benefits beginning this month. Worked exactly as you said. However, well before this, when my wife turned 65, she filed for medicare A and shortly thereafter for B, but now that she has filed for spousal benefits, she receives in the mail a new medicare card using my social with the letter B afterwards but only for part A....

Will My Part B Premium Rate Be Recalculated When I File On My Own Record?

At FRA my wife filled for SS, at my FRA I filled for spousal benefits with the intent to file on my record at 70. I am having my medicare payments taken from my SS payment and have been protected from medicare increases due to the hold harmless clause. Will my medicare payment be recalculated when I reach 70 and sign up on my own record? My Part B medicare payment is currently $116 and I would like to continue to take advantage of the hold harmless clause.

Thank you for the wonderful guidance you provide on this important set of retirement topics.

Am I Eligible For Medicare Or Medicaid?

Sir,
I am 57 and got on disability , SSDI, the maximum in Feb 2017. I have terrible private insurance, pays NEVER. I desperately need MEDICAID or MEDICARE, you know the correct one. I would do or say anything to get it because I NEED it. I'm a disabled Pharmacist. I really need insurance help. Please advise.

Also.......Sir,
Is there a list of extra benefits I could apply for, I'm struggling financially. Thank you so much, Newton

Is There Something I Can Do To Get A Lower Medicare Premium Rate?

Dear Larry
I took an early retirement deal from my employer December 1st 2016 and had a large payout for unused vacation and sick time. That plus cashing out a portion of my 401k pushed my earnings last year above 230k.
I started on Medicare in September 2017 and my wife is already on SSDI with Medicare for the last 12 years. I have not started my Social Security benefits yet and we are surviving on my employer pension and my wife's disability.

Is There Any Good Reason To Continue Paying Medicare Premiums Directly After You Start Drawing Benefits?

Hello,
I am suspending my benefits until I am 68.5 my wife turns 66 and then she will take spousal benefits for 4 years. She will sign up for Medicare at 65 and they will bill her. When she turns 66 and gets spousal benefits should her Medicare premium then be deducted from her spousal payment each month or continue to pay them directly. I know you are not held harmless if you pay directly, but is there a good reason to pay directly after age 66 on spousal. Thanks so much

How Is My Medicare Number Determined?

My husband died at age 62 from service-connected disabilities. He received SSA disability benefits for only 6 months starting at age 61. At age 60, I applied for SSA widow's benefits. Government Pension Offset and Windfall Elimination Provisions have offset the entire SSA amount so my widow's application was suspended. I've decided to wait until age 70 to apply for my own SSA entitlement. I am now age 64 and just today I received my first Medicare card. It has my husband's SSN-D number on it.
