Can You Please Clarify Whether Or Not I Should Get An Additional Part B Medicare Premium Refund?

Hello. I was paid my first Social Security payment in September of this year for August with no Medicare Part B payment reduction. Per my Social Security letter, I will receive payment going forward with the Part B deductions made. However, I have already paid in full to Medicare for the Part B payments for August, Sept., Oct., and November and have already received a check for a two month part b refund. I have read that refunds are made for month of social security payment rather than the month that you are paid for. However it still seems that I paid for Aug.

Is There Any Way That I Could Receive My Part B Premiums Back?

Hi Larry. I am a dual enrolled individual under the age of 65 and receiving Social Security Disabilty benefits. My part A and part B premiums were being paid at one time both by Medicare as my primary and Medicaid as my secondary until the program I was enrolled into was considered incompatible for some reason. Since then, I have been paying for my Part B premium from my benefit for over 12 months primarily because I had no knowledge of other programs, my eligibility or the steps I would have needed to take next.

How Can I Receive Medicare Part B?

I am about to retire from my job. I am 70 yrs old. How can I receive Medicare part b. I'm already receiving ss check.

Hi. You'll need to file an application with Social Security. If you've had primary health insurance coverage through your job then you should be able to start Part B coverage as early as the month that you apply. People with employer group health plans (EGHP) get a special enrollment period (SEP) allowing them to sign up for Part B with no delay or premium penalty when their EGHP coverage ends.

How Long Does A Person Have To Wait Before Becoming Eligible For Medicare?

Larry,
I am 62 and 1/2 can go out on early SSI or potentially SDI because of medical.
The issue is health insurance, how long does one have to wait before being medicare?
As the issue is more about healthcare as I had Bi pass surgery years back and am uninsureable
in the real world.

So the question becomes do I wait for SDI or file SSI and get on medicare right away.

Thanks,

Joe

Who Do We Write To To Get A Medicare Premium Refund?

My husband paid 3 months Medicare Part B premium in January 2021 (for February, March, and April) and then went on Medicare which has been automatically deducting the premiums monthly (including for those three months). It is now August 2021, and no sign of a refund of the 3 month premium which has been, in effect, paid twice. Supposedly if we just sit on our thumbs it will come to us but I am now considerably doubtful. Who do we write to?

Can You Translate What Social Security Is Telling Me?

I had worked 40 years for the Los Angeles Healthcare system which had opted out of Social Security. My total quarters credited for Social Security are 14 and counting as I retired out of LA County and work now as a self-employed consultant. My county retirement package includes great medical coverage. After I signed up for Medicare Parts A and B my bill for Part B was around $500 per month so I asked SS if I could drop Part B and they told me I could.

Would Starting My Medicare Coverage And SS In December vs. January Make A Difference In My Medicare Premium Rate?

Hello. I will turn 65 in Nov 2021. I will file for Medicare and SS effective Dec as my insurance terminates Nov 30. 2021. I have a large amount of interest income in 2021. By having Medicare for one month in 2021, how does it affect the increased Medicare premiums? I know they look back 2 years. Would getting Medicare on Jan 1, 2022 make any difference when I might have pay larger Medicare premiums because of large income this year? Does SS effective date of 12/1 or 1/1/22 make any difference also? Thanks very much

Should I Be Due A Refund For The Part B Premium I Paid For July?

Hi, I paid Medicare part b premiums for may June July and then again for August September October. Just filed for SS to begin in July. SS payment was received for July on Aug 1. Part b premium was deducted from July SS payment. It seems I am due for a refund of 445.50 (Aug Sept Oct) plus 148.50 for july. Is that correct? Thanks
