Which Month's Medicare Premium Will Be Withheld From My Social Security Benefit For July That's Paid In August?

Larry
1. I have set up a program at BofA to pay both my Medicare B and D by the due date of the 25-th day of the preceding month.
2. My social security begins for the month of July, and is deposited in August on the 2nd, third, or 4th Wednesday of August
3. Assuming no delay in switchover.
(a) Will the net SS payment for July in August be net of the Medicare bill for August due by July 25-th (THEN IT WILL BE LATE) or that for September due by August 25-th. What if the 4-th Wednesday is after the 25-th ?

Can I Pick My Medicare Part B Start Date?

I turned 65 in July 2020 and signed up for part A medicare and postponed Part B because I have health
insurance through work. I want to retire January 31st 2022, and would like Medicare Part B to start January 1st.
Is this possible, or do I have to sign up in some signup period(January to March for example)?

Basically, Can I pick my Part B start date?

Thanks

Why Did My Wife Get A Bigger Medicare Premium Refund Than I Did?

I was collecting spousal benefits since age 66 until I turned 70 in June 2020 and began collecting my full Social Security benefit. My wife continued to work after age 66, retired at 68 and deferred her full benefit until she turned 70 in August 2019. We had been paying Medicare IRMAA surcharges due to our higher 2018 income. However, that income declined sharply in 2019 and after we filed our 2019 tax return in July 2020, we immediately sent a copy to Social Security with the appropriate form to have these IRMAA surcharges eliminated.

Is There Anything I Can Do To Get My Part B Medicare Start Date Corrected?

I retired Oct 30 and was insured through Employer through Nov 30. I applied for Medicare Part B Oct 22 and noted employer "Coverage will term 11/30/2020 due to retirement." Then also noted "Part B must be effective 12/1/2020". When I received Medicare cards for me and my husband who is going to be insured through my employer for our Part B supplement, the start date noted on the cards was 11/1/2020. How do I correct the date. I am getting nowhere with SSA offices. Spoke to my local office and the man was so mean and rude, I began crying.

Will I Need To Do Anything To Stop My Medicare Premiums From Being Deducted From My CSRS Annuity?

I'm a CSRS annuitant, age 66. When I turned 65 I chose to have Medicare deducted from my CSRS monthly annuity. I'm getting ready to apply for my Social Security benefit, where Medicare premiums are automatically deducted. Do I need to do anything to stop the Medicare deduction from my CSRS annuity? I talked to a CMS rep and they implied that the system(s) will automatically catch, stop the deduction from my CSRS annuity once my Social Security benefit begins.

Is There Any Way To Fix The Reduction In My Social Security Payment?

Good morning, I have been receiving social security for over 20 years and in 2018, my husband passed away. The following year, I took distributions from his IRA and other accounts...in lump sums, rather than spousal (over time). My income shot up to over $200k and I just received a letter from SS telling me that my benefits are going down by $305 per month.
Is this something that can be fixed, either this year or in subsequent years? I'm an 85 yr old widow.

Hi,

I'm sorry for your loss.
