How Do I Apply For A Part B Premium Reimbursement?

Category:

I have heard we can receive a Medicare Part B FEHB plan reombursement . What forms and how do I apply for this refund

Hi,

I believe what you're referring to is that some Federal Employee Health Benefit (FEHB) plans offer partial reimbursement to their enrollees if they're also enrolled in Part B of Medicare. Those reimbursements are paid by the individual FEHB insurance companies, not Medicare or Social Security. You'll need to check with your FEHB insurance company to see if your plan offers a reimbursement of Part B premiums.

Will There Be A Gap In My Medicare Coverage Because I Switched To Drawing Benefits On My Own Record?

Category:

Hi,
I am a widow and I took survivor's benefits and Medicare at 66, my full retirement age. I will be 70 this month (June) and I applied for my own retirement benefits, which are substantially more. I received a letter from Social Security confirming the change, but it says that I will get a new Medicare card and the Medicare coverage will begin in August. Will I have a two month gap in medical coverage?

Thank you.

Hi,

How Can I Get My Part B Enrollment Date Rectified Immediately?

Category:

I applied for Part B to begin on September 1, 2020 (as I will still be employed until then and have medical insurance until then). They just sent my new SS card w/ a start date for Plan B of June 1, 2020 (Perhaps because the document I submitted was dated May 1, 2020; however, I am not sure why because the form was completed correctly!-- I do not want moneys taken out before I need Part B! How can this be rectified immediately? Thank you!

Hi,

Can I Change The Date Medicare Will Begin?

Category:

Medicare is scheduled to begin June 2020. Because of the Coronavirus I am putting retirement off until July 31. Can I change the date medicare will begin?

Hi,

The only way that you can delay the start date of Part A of Medicare is by filing your application later, but I assume you're referring to Part B of Medicare. The date that your Part B coverage starts depends on the type of enrollment period in which you apply.

Is What The Social Security Interviewer Told Me Correct?

Category:

I am 65 and on unemployment compensation. My Union still pays my health benefits through August 2020. I am trying to hold off until September to start early SS benefits (1-1-55)is my birthday. My phone conversation with an interviewer I was told I had to start medicare part B now. It was explained to me that I must be employed and have health benefits. Is this correct or was I misinformed. Thank you

Hi,

Am I Forced To Sign Up For Medicare When I File For Divorced Spousal Benefits?

Category:

Dear Larry
I am 67 and past FRA. I meet all the criteria for Divorced Spousal benefits and have started the SSI paperwork. I am still working and do not need Medicare as I am covered by my employer. Am I forced to sign up for Medicare when I submit the claim for divorced spousal benefits? I can not find the answer anywhere.

Thanks for considering
