Hi, this is complicated but here goes: my daughter receives SSDI under two accounts as follows: $900 as my adult child; $200 under her own work record. This has been the case for several years.

Recently, my wife filed for spousal benefits.

Now I have received a letter stating that my daughter no longer qualifies for child's benefits and that, due to my wife's filing, benefits are no longer due to my daughter. In addition the letter said my daughter was overpaid by $200 and that amount was taken from my wife's benefits.

The brochure I was given regarding Worker's Compensation says it "may" have an effect on your disability payment. When does it, and when does it not.
I am receiving disability but I don't receive any of it because of a Worker's Comp lump sum, and over payment from 1999. Is there a limit to how much they can take? Does my pension (Chicago Teachers Pension Fund) decrease my funds also. I am not sure if that is considered a government pension or not.

I have been on Social Security Disability since I was 55 and I will be turning 62 in two months. I know under normal circumstances I could have elected to start drawing SS at 62. My question is, since I am already drawing SSD, at 62 could I return to work and still draw SS at the age 62 reduced benefit without being penialized.

Hello Larry my wife has been on Social Security SSI for three years now do too papillary and carcinoma stage 3 cancer on top of depression and pre-diabetic. My question is 3 years is up she went under review there was more than enough evidence to show that she still qualifies for social security benefits she is on numerous amount of Medicine and due to the fact of so much medicine it is been very hard for me to work because I have time schedules for her to take her medications. They denied her disability and said starting March is her last check.

If my husband's SSDI began in June 2015, does the new law below apply to him? or is he grandfathered in under the old law since it began before Dec. 2015? He turns 65 in Jan. 2017.

NEW LAW: Social Security benefit will be reduced until the month you reach age 65, or the month your other benenits stop, whichever comes first. Starting December 19, 2015, due to a change in the law, your benenits will continue to be reduced until you reach your full retirement age.

I worked for the State of California for 27 years. I was medically retired from the state in 2005, after spending 9 months in the hospital for a severe case of pancreatitis. I have been collecting my retirement benefits since May of 2005 to present. I went back to school and because a surgical tech and work about 1 or 2 times a month. Recently, I went through a total shoulder replacement in November of 2016. I took a fall recently and have to go back in and have it repaired.

I became disabled in 2010, and I started receiving SSDI IN 2011, and would like to know what I should to maximize my future income. Because we have no savings left as it mostly went to doctor and hospital bills, not to mention a trip to California for brain surgery at Stanford. We stayed there for 5 weeks. Myself, husband and son. Sadly, I don't believe I will ever go back to work.

I am receiving ssdi for over 5 years, 60 years old and would like to try part time work for myself. Can I do that? And if I do, and then file for social security benefits when reaching retirement age, will I receive the same amount?
