What Percentage Of All Retirees Receive The Maximum Age 70 Benefit?

What percentage of all retirees are receiving the age 70 max of $3770/month benefit?

Hi,

I don't know the answer to that question, but only around 4% of people wait until age 70 to claim their benefits and I'm sure that only a low percentage of those individuals paid the maximum amount of Social Security taxes in every year leading up to when they turned age 70. So, I think it's safe to conclude that no more than around 1% of all Social Security recipients actually receive the maximum possible age 70 rate.

How Do I Qualify For A Loan On SSI?

How do I qualify for a loan on SSI

Hi,

I don't know what you mean. SSI (Supplemental Security Income) is a needs based benefit administered by Social Security. It's intended as a last resort source of support for people who are disabled, blind, or age 65 or older and who have little or no other means of support. People who qualify for either Social Security benefits and/or SSI are paid on a monthly basis, and they can't get advance payments or loans from Social Security.

Why Were My Benefits Stopped?

Hi Larry, I am a UK citizen, living in France, but spent 20+ years living and working in the US (with a green card, as a permanent resident), with the usual monthly deductions (SS, retirement etc). I applied for my retirement benefits this past March, when I turned 62. All was well, my monthly payments started in April. Last month (September) I received an email from the US embassy rep in Paris saying there was a problem with my address. After an email and phone conversation he told me it was straightened out.

How Will My SS Be Affected If I Don't Pay Income Tax For The Next 10 Years?

Hi I've lived and worked in Florida for 25 years but recently 3 years ago I moved to Mexico for a better job. I file my taxes every year but I get a 103,000 exemption because my residence is in Mexico now. I think I may stay here for the next 10 years working . How will this effect my SS earnings if its exempt and I dont pay any income tax for the next 10 years.
Thanks

Will Social Security Pay My Husband's Benefits If We Move To Germany?

My husband who will be 65 this month, receives social security disability from Germany. 1. We have always reported this as income, even though in Germany it is not taxable because it is small.
2. He is eligible to get even smaller social security from the US. Will they pay if we move back to Germany? ( he is a legal alien).
