My sister is 70 yoa. She collects a pension from the Dallas PD of $50,000. Her husband deceased two years ago. He was getting SS benefits when he passed. My sister has tried on two occasions to collect survivor benefits but was denied twice telling her that she makes too much money to get survivor benefits.
What should she do as I am told that she is entitled to his benefits.

Dear friend. I am 56 ( to be 57 april 30th), my partner of 34 years ( married 6), passed away march 6th. After driving 3 hours to be with him for over 2 months i fell ill and was unable to sighn the death certificate as i had no internet , so the guy at the funeral home bypassed me and contacted the estranged daughter ( havnt heard from her in 30 years). Even though i told the attendant at the funeral home that we were leagally married, he allowed the daughter to write divorced ( fraud), on the death cettificate and refused to change it.

I'm 42 years old & still work of course & my husband is 68 years old & retired. At these ages would I qualify for Survivor benefits if something happened to him & if not what age would I need to be to collect any of his benefits?

Unless you have a qualifying child in your care, the earliest that you could be eligible for survivor benefits is age 60, or age 50 if you're disabled (https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.04/handbook-0401.html).

You could only qualify for survivor benefits on your first husband's record if you're either a) unmarried, or b) your current marriage took place when you were at least age 60.
