Hi, Jerry/Larry. Regarding the prior question someone just posted of "When a person dies and they're drawing SSI does Social Security always take it all back" -- What if you also got Medicaid along with SSI. Isn't Medicaid administered by SocSec, and aren't there rules about Medicaid/SSI recovering money, once someone dies, for certain medical expenses if the deceased's estate has funds to pay for healthcare previously provided by Medicaid? I know this is complex, but wondered if SSA/Medicaid can seek repayment for services rendered/benefits paid? Thanks for the help!
I been on SSI for 10 yrs disabled Now when I turned 62 back in June they put me on rsdi, give me a little more a month but dropped my Medicaid. What do I need to do to get my insurance started up? Seems like they left me uninsured and I have doctors to see regularly.
In a nutshell:
My husband died 11/25/16 he was 43
I have 2 children ages 9 & 11
We receive $2832 a month from SS
I work part time at a school and average $3000
A year in compensation.
Can we get medicaid if go to work full time? (I can barely make ends meet with what we are receiving.)
How much can I earn to still receive medicaid?
I'm sorry for your loss.

They said didn't get it, so I faxed it llast Thursday March 29th..Today I got the letter I mail it went to DOC (prison dept) So they took out $268.00 of my check. I can't get through to any one.
My daughters father was violently murdered 2 weeks ago. She is on Medicaid and we receive SNAP in Texas. I went to file for Survivor Benefits at the local social security office and was suprised at the amount she will start to receive monthly. I was wondering if this new monthly income will affect her medicaid or SNAP? Thank you for your time.
I'm 70 years old and in debt also with no asset or real estate. I'm receiving Medicare and Mass Health standard. I have a precondition health issue and this is the reason I didn't work until I turn 70. I want to work from home to make a little extra to supplement my income. I afraid to lose my MassHealth (Medicaid). How can I find out for sure with raising a red flag?
I'm sorry, but Social Security is my only area of expertise, so I can't answer your question. You should probably check with the agency that administers your MassHealth benefits.
I am 62 and in 2013whike I was self employed I had a brain hemorrage , which left me with some permanent deficits. I was denied disability benefits because I had been self employed since 2003 and did not put myself on the payroll because it seemed that I could not afford to pay myself. So, for the last 10 yearsI had not paid into S/S I am now getting Medicaid and I was going to apply for my S/Sretirement but I'm afraid that the income from a retirement check will negate my Medicaid eligibility. I have researched this and have not found an answer.
My husband left us for a girlfriend, I want to get a divorce (he says a divorce I would not be covered under his health insurance)... I make $36,000 a year.. he pays the mortgage & heat, car payment & car insurance. I pay all credit card bills that we had, lipa, cable, ..I feed our 3 kids and play for anything that comes up! What is the eligibility requirements for Medicaid as health insurance for just myself!!?
