Can My Wife Suspend Her Benefits And Receive Spousal Benefits Instead?

My wife is currently receiving social security disabilities payments and will reach FRA next year. I am 70 and after receiving receiving spousal benefits under her disability designation I am now receiving my regular benefit. My question is if she drops her social security disability payments and suspends her regular retirement benefit before age 66 (her FRA) would she be able to receive spousal benefit under my regular benefit at 50% of my benefit?

Can I Start Drawing My Benefits At FRA And Delay Taking Part B Of Medicare Until I Retire?

I will reach my FRA on 06/22/2019 (single, no dependents), but I plan to continue full time employment until 12/31/2019-Lord willing. I will receive an annuity of $468/month at retirement from my job (no windfall issue here). I receive medical insurance through my employer and I signed up for Part A of Medicare when I turned 65 in 2018. My salary is $50K/year. My question is: can I request my Social Security at my FRA, continue my full time job until 12/31/2019 (specifically for the medical benefits) and not begin Medicare Part B until 01/01/2020?

Is There Any Reason I Shouldn't Take The Social Security Back Pay I've Been Offered?

I am 70 May 2019. Have delayed benefits until now and still working. Met SS in person was offered $21,936 one time check but would reset my benefit back 6 mos. and be $114/mo. less. Also they stated they could go back another 3 months from when I made my appointment. The 9 month reset is less $209/month but I get a one time check for $32,040. (Break even 12yrs).
QUESTION: Is there any reason to not take the $32,000 check ??? Why is this offered ?

Could My Husband Withdraw His Application And File For Spousal Benefits Instead?

My husband filed for his benefits 2/2019 at age 66.4. I have not filed yet, I am 62.9. Can I file now and then he withdraws his application, pays back what they gave him and then he reapplies with a restricted application and then assumes his own benefits at age 70?? I cant seem to find the answer to this question. It did not come up when I purchased your program as an option. You only show him suspending his benefits...not withdrawing and starting over. Thank you so much for answering this, Lynn

Should I Stop My Payments And Start Drawing At Age 66 1/2?

I will draw my first SSI check April 24 at 62. Around 845 monthly.
Housewife mostly my life with about 15 years of actual working.
This amount is based with my 70 year old husbands SSI, who retired at 66.
Today I interviewed for a job, my question is should I stop my payments an work on bringing up my credits, cause if I had drawn only on mine I'd only got 350 a month.
Then start drawing at 66 1/2
Or take the reduced amount of ssi and work also.
Paycheck would be around 400 a week , before taxes.

Which Month Should I Choose?

Hi Sir, I bought the Maxifi software and will be inputting data this weekend. Could you clear something up for me please? My birthday is 9 March 1951 and I plan on retiring at the 69 years old point. Do I request to start receiving benefits 1 March or do I roll into April since April is my first full month 69 year old birthday? I can't get much off the internet except 'pick your birthday date carefully' .. thank you for you help in advance.

Is There Any Way To Get The Correct Information About My Benefits?

I will be 70 in August2019, and will be drawing my benefit at that time. I am a retired Firefighter and am subject to the WEP. I have 22 years of Substantial Earnings. I have an appointment to apply for benefits on April 29,2019, but don't really trust them to give me the best advice or amount I will receive. Is there a way to get the correct information on these questions so I know I am getting the straight story from them?

What Month Should We Choose?

Wife reaches FRA in August 2019. Born 8-15-1953. I am younger and the higher earner. Born 12-15-1955. The best strategy for us is to file simultaneously so she can file a restricted application for spousal benefit and let her benefit grow. The question is; what month should we do this. Does August count as a FRA month (first payments in September) or do we have to wait until the month after (first payment in October)?
