Will My Payment Still Come On The Third Of The Month?

I'm 66 my retirement check will it still come on the third of the month

Hi. I have no way of knowing whether or not your payment date will change, but I can tell you that the Social Security regulations that determine when a person is paid haven't changed since 1997.

Based on the regulations passed into law by Congress, the only people who should be receiving their payments on the 3rd day of the month are a) people who applied for benefits prior to April 30 1997, or b) people who also receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, or c) people who are residing outside of the U.S. If you don't meet one of those exceptions then your Social Security benefits would normally be paid on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Wednesday of the month depending on the birthdate of the person on whose record the benefits are paid (https://www.ssa.gov/kc/rp_paybenefits.htm).

Best, Jerry
