Will I Lose My Disability If I Sell My House And Use The Money To Buy Another House?

hello
i am curious if i sell my house to my parents so my grandpa can live closer and i use all money from my house to purchase a home in town will i lose my disability .

Hi,

Buying or selling a house would have no effect on Social Security disability benefits (SSDI). However, if you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI), then proceeds from the sale of your home could potentially make you ineligible for SSI payments at least temporarily. Individuals receiving SSI are limited to having total assets of no more than $2,000, excluding the value of the home in which they live and a motor vehicle (https://www.ssa.gov/ssi/).

Best, Jerry
