Will I Be Penalized For Months That I Receive Three Paychecks Instead Of Two?

I got paid bi-weekly so there are some months with three paychecks instead of 2. Am I penalized for months that went above the threshold of $910 per month (during the trial work period)

Hi,

When establishing trial work months Social Security counts earnings in the month they are earned, not when they are paid. However, evidence needed to establish precise monthly earnings is frequently unavailable to Social Security, so they often simply use the monthly earnings figures furnished by the person's employer. And, those reports usually show the amounts paid to the employee in a month rather than how much was earned.

Social Security will use the correct monthly earnings figures if they have sufficient evidence, so what you should do is retain or print out your pay slips showing your days worked and the amounts that you were paid. You can then submit those records to your local or servicing Social Security office so that they can document your correct trial work months.

Best, Jerry
