Why Doesn't My Social Security Statement Come Up?

My wife just turned 65 (yesterday) and has applied for social security and I also applied for spousal benefits off of her. I just logged into my account and see that "Your Social Security Statement" does not come up. I am planning to let my benefits ride until I turn 70. So why cant I see the total month to month any more. The last one that I had printed was from Feb of this year. I searched all over the SS website for that total and cant seem to find it. Can you help me?

Thanks

John

Hi John. I can't be sure, but my understanding is that Social Security stops providing access to Social Security statements to people who are already drawing benefits, even if it's only spousal benefits. Apparently they stop providing access as soon as you apply for benefits if your experience is an indicator. I can't be sure of that, though, so you may want to check with Social Security to see if they can explain.

Best, Jerry
