Who Do I Contact About Getting A Refund Of Duplicate Medicare Premiums?

In December 2017, I paid my Medicare premium 3 months in advance for Jan, Feb, March 2018. I signed up for Social Security in December 2017 so I could start receiving benefits in January 2018. I received my first social security check in February and they deducted my Medicare premium from the check. Who do I contact about getting a refund for the Medicare premiums that I paid in advance for Feb and March since Social Security is taking it out of my checks?

Hi,

Medicare premiums are automatically deducted from benefits even if they've been paid in advance, but you will receive a refund of your duplicate premiums. No action other than patience should be needed on your part. The refund should be received within 60 days of your first Social Security payment.

Best, Jerry
