When Will My Child's Benefits End?

I have a special needs adult child and a 17 year old who just graduated from high school and will be starting college in the fall. All three of us are currently receiving SSA benefits. My daughter will be turning 18 in January, I would like to know when her benefits will terminate.

Hi,

Assuming that she doesn't get married before then, your non-disabled child's benefits will end when she turns age 18. Her last check will be for the month of December, which is the check issued in January. However, if she happens to have been born on January 1st, her benefits will end a month earlier.

Best, Jerry
