Is There A Way To Find Out When My Social Security Check Will Be Paid?

I have noticed that some people receive their Social Security payments on a specific date in the month (i.e. the 3rd) and some receive their payments on a day of the month (i.e. third Wednesday). Is there a look up table to see when Social Security pays?

Hi,

Here is one source I found: https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.01/handbook-0121.html.

Before May 1997, Social Security benefits were paid on the 3rd day of each month. People who started receiving benefits before then are still paid on the 3rd of the month, as well as some others who meet an exception to the new rules. Otherwise, people who became eligible for benefits after April 1997 are paid either on the 2nd, 3rd, or 4th Wednesday of each month. Which of these three Wednesdays applies depends on the birthday of the person on whose account the benefits are paid. If their birthday falls in the first ten days of the month, payments are made on the 2nd Wednesday. If their birthday falls on the 11th through the 20th of the month, payments are made on the 3rd Wednesday. If their birthday is later than the 20th of the month, payments are made on the 4th Wednesday.

Best, Jerry
