Is There Any Way To Get Part B Medicare Coverage Sooner?

I have part A but my part b doesnt start until 07/22. Is there anyway I could it to start sooner? I have my own insurance i PAY FOR BUT IT WONT PAY FOR A SURGERY I NEED. WOULD MEDICARE ALLOW ME EARLY ADMISSION INTO PART B

Hi. I can't give you a definite answer without much more information. The earliest that a person can qualify for Part B of Medicare is at age 65, unless they are disabled or have end stage renal disease. Furthermore, there are only certain enrollment periods during which you can enroll in Part B of Medicare. Specifically, the potential enrollment periods are the initial enrollment period (IEP), the special enrollment period (SEP), and the general enrollment period (GEP). For specifics on these enrollment periods, refer to the following Medicare website: https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/Eligibility-and-Enrollment/OrigMedicarePart....

If you didn't enroll in Part B of Medicare during your IEP and if you aren't eligible for an SEP, then I assume you enrolled during the current GEP. In that case, then there's no way to get Part B coverage earlier than July 1st. GEPs for Part B of Medicare occur each year from January 1st through March 31st, and if you enroll for Part B during a GEP your coverage begins on July 1st of the year in which you enroll.

Best, Jerry
