I am on SSI for disability said i was short on recent work credits for social security disability . Is there away to get my full retirement amount at 62 since all my paperwork is approved disability from SS

Hi. No, not unless you qualify for Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits . If you start drawing Social Security retirement benefits prior to your full retirement age (FRA) your benefit rate is reduced for age even if you're disabled. The only way you can get your FRA rate paid prior to FRA is if you qualify for SSDI benefits.

If you get Supplemental Security Income (SSI) benefits and if you have enough work credits to qualify for Social Security retirement benefits but not SSDI benefits, you are required to apply for your Social Security retirement benefits as soon as you qualify even though you would then get a reduced benefit rate. Otherwise, your SSI payments will stop.
SSI is a needs based benefit, and one of the requirements for collecting SSI is that you must file for any other benefits for which you can qualify.
