Is It Too Soon To Expect An Answer From Social Security Regarding My Request For A Benefit Recalculation?

I retired in 2017 at the age of 62, I continued working part time, in all the years of retirement my income was higher, every year than it was in my younger working years, I never had a recalcuation that I know of, then in Novmeber of 2022 I sent a leftter to Social Security Administration asking for a recalculation, it is almost June of 2023 and I have not heard anything from them one way or another regarding the recalcualtion. Is it too soon to expect an answer and also will they give me an answer even if I don't qualify for a recalculation ?

Will My 2022 Earnings Replace A Lower Earnings Year That Was Used To Calculate My Benefit?

I am 69 yrs old. I took SS at age 65 in 2018. I have 50+ years of earnings. I went back to work in 2022 and made $17K+ of earnings from a part-time job. Will this amount replace a lower earnings year of the 35 SS used to calculate my benefit? And if so, will my benefit be re-calculated automatically and be increased? When??

Thank you,
Denise

How Do I Get Social Security To Recalculate My Benefit Amount?

Hi Larry, I retired at age 62, that was 5 years ago , I continued working , in all of those five years I earned more than any of the five years I worked when I was much younger and those years were used to calculate my benefits when I retired. SSA has not recalculated my earnings since retirement, my question is how do I get them to recalculate my benefits ?

Will Social Security Automatically Give My Credit For My Higher 2021 Earnings?

Hi Larry,
My 2021income was $15,000 more than my 35th lowest earning year. I started receiving benefits in June of 2022 so it wasn't considered in calculating my benefits. Am I correct that SSA will recalculate in December and pay me the difference retroactively in a lump sum. Also, my benefits are currently $2551/month, can you tell what my new benefit amount would be? Thanks.

Should My Benefit Amount Be Recalculated After Each Additional Year I Work?

My full retirement age was 66. I have been collecting SS since my full retirement for 2 yrs. I am now 68 and never stopped working and have continued to put into SS about $350.00 a month for the last 2 years. Should my SS be recalculated for each additional years I work since I continue to put back into SS?

Where Does It Say In The Law That My Benefit Can Be Recalculated Annually?

I am 68 and only have 40 credits so I'm waiting until I'm 70 to collect retirement benefits. In your book you stated that if I keep working until after I'm age 70, every year my benefit amount will increase because my benefit will be recalculated annually based on my increased payments into social security. Can you tell me where it says that in the law. My friend just turned 70 and is in the same position as I am and SSA told him his benefit at age 70 was frozen and could not go up.
