My husband has a military pension plus he is collecting social security. I was told that I couldn't get any help cause I didn't get a raise in my check. I only get a very small social security check. Is this true and is there any way I can get my check increased?
Hi,
I'm sorry, but there isn't enough information in your question for me to be able to give you a good answer. Assuming that both you and your husband are receiving Social Security retirement benefits based on your own work records it's possible that you could be eligible for additional Social Security spousal benefits, but only if your husband's full retirement age rate, or primary insurance amount (PIA), is more than twice as much as your PIA. Otherwise, it sounds like you're probably already receiving all of the Social Security benefits for which you're eligible.
Best, Jerry
