So, I have filed and suspended my benefits until age 70 before the 2016 April deadline. Are you say when my spouse reaches 66 this coming April she will not be eligible for spousal benifits?
Hi,
No. I don't know what you are referencing, but as long as your wife isn't already drawing benefits on her own record it sounds like she would be able to file a restricted application just for spousal benefits only when she turns age 66 and allow her own benefit rate to grow until age 70. You may want to use the maximization software available on this website in order to be sure that's her best strategy.
Best, Jerry
