How Will Your Software Help Me?

I will be 61 this year and my ex husband will be 66. I did not work long enough to collect my own Social Security so I will be collecting thru my ex husband. He made a good income while we were married, so I assume he will be collecting the maximum amount. How will your software help me if I don't have any financial info from my ex?

Hi,

You would need to provide at least the approximate amount of your divorced spousal benefit rate, which would be 50% of your ex-husband's full retirement age rate if you file at your full retirement age. If he won't give you the information, you should be able to get an estimate of your potential benefit rate from Social Security.

Best, Jerry
