How Do I Get My Full Benefit Payments Resumed?

I have been talking to SS for over a year about an over payment that was paid in full in April., I continue to have $184.00 taken from monthly benefits and would like to know how I get my actual benefits from SS.

Hi. If you've repaid your overpayment in full and if Social Security is still withholding part of your benefits, then your repayment must not yet have been entered into Social Security's computer system. The reason for that could depend on where you sent the repayment, or it could just reflect a backlog in handling such repayments.

There's not much you can do other than follow up with Social Security, ideally with whomever you dealt with when you repaid your overpayment. If you can't get any satisfaction through direct contacts with Social Security, you may want to try contacting the office of either your U.S. congressional representative or one of your U.S. senators. Inquiries sent to Social Security by members of Congress on behalf of their constituents can often result in an expedited resolution of the problem.

Best, Jerry
