How Can I Maximize My Social Security Income If I'm Retired Due To A Stroke?

I am retired due to stroke. How can I maximize my social security income? I go by Mitch.

Hi Mitch,

I would need more information to be able to give you an answer, but if you're not yet age 66 and your stroke has made you unable to work then you should probably consider filing for Social Security disability benefits (SSDI). If you qualify, you would be paid what is essentially a projection of your full retirement age benefit regardless of your present age. For more information on SSDI, refer to Social Security's website: https://www.ssa.gov/planners/disability/.

Also, depending on your age and marital history you may have other options. Our maximization software should be able to help you identify any benefits for which you may qualify.

Best, Jerry
