How Can I Get Social Security To Stop Withholding Medicare Premiums?

The state of FL pays medicare premiums for low income Social Security recipiants. The state is presently paying my medicare. However social security is still removing the premium amount from my check. I cannot find anyone willing to fix the problem. They just tell me it will be fixed next payment.

Hi. Your Medicare premiums should automatically stop being withheld from your benefits when the state puts you on their list of people whose premiums they're paying. If that's not happening, it's probably some type of computer programming issue. The only thing I can suggest is to continue following up with Social Security until the problem's fixed, or you might try contacting the office of one of your congressional representatives to see if they can make an inquiry on your behalf.

Best, Jerry
