Hi,

I'm sorry to hear about your health problems. You wouldn't be eligible for Social Security disability benefits because you are over full retirement age. And, you would only be eligible for spousal benefits if 50% of your husband's full retirement age rate (PIA) is higher than your own full retirement age rate.

If you think that you may qualify for spousal benefits you could either call Social Security at 1-800-772-1213 or visit a Social Security office to apply. As a last resort if you can't do either of those, you could try completing and mailing to a Social Security office a paper application form SSA-2 (https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-2-bk.pdf).

Best, Jerry
