Hello. I am on SSI and have been for 3 year's I moved to Florida from California in July this year.
I knew moving here that social security would lower my payments I have applied for food stamps and they are only giving me$20.00 a month. When I applied for food stamps was told that I would probably get$130.00 a month.
Do you know of any other resources that I can get?
I have mental health issue and other health issues. I have a hard time understanding some things and getting in touch with the right people and programs that I might be able to get. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon. Dale

I'm sorry, but I'm not familiar with the various public assistance programs available around the country. The SSI (Supplemental Security Income) caseworkers at Social Security are usually well acquainted with the public assistance agencies and programs available in their area, so you may want to try asking them for information.
