Do I Need To Turn In My Self-Employment Expenses To Social Security Every Month?

I started Doir Dash and I am on SSDI. Do I turn in my expenses for self employment with the amount I make every minth to SSA?
How do I turn in hours worked?

Hi. Anyone who's receiving Social Security disability (SSDI) benefits needs to report to Social Security if they start working. When you report your work to Social Security, they will likely ask you to complete a form SSA-820 (https://www.ssa.gov/forms/ssa-820.pdf). That form has a question where you can list your monthly hours of work and approximate net earnings. Social Security will likely also want to see a copy of your tax returns for any year in which you had self-employment earnings as soon as you've filed your tax returns.

Whether or not you'll need to report your income and expenses on a monthly basis depends on how long you've been working. Social Security should let you know how often you need to report your earnings once they become aware of your work.

Best, Jerry
