Can My Husband Have His Spousal Benefits Directly Deposited To My Checking Account?

I am starting SS. My husband is going to draw spousal benefits. My question- we are doing direct deposit. Can we have it deposited back to my checking account? Or does it have to deposit in his checking account since he is the one filing for spousal benefits. We have separate checking accounts...thank you..

Hi,

Unless I'm mistaken, your husband must be listed as the owner or joint owner of the account to which he has his Social Security payments directly deposited.

Best, Jerry
