Can My Daughter Be Entitled To Both CDB And SSDI Benefits?

My daughter receives CDB on her mothers record (mother retired). She has a part time job making less than SGA. She has now however become eligible to draw a small check on her own record. She does not receive SSI cash benefits. Question: Is my daughter now entitled to both her CDB benefits and SSDI on her own record?

Hi,

Yes, your daughter could be entitled to both Social Security disability benefits on her own record and disabled adult child's benefits on a parent's record. However, she can only receive the higher of the 2 benefit rates, not both.

Best, Jerry
