Can I Still Get Any Government Assistance?

I had a pension from SSS from my retirement from work whith is $1,165/month got medicare n medical can still avail any govt assistant. thanks and God Bless.

Hi,

Social Security is my only area of expertise, so I don't know if you could qualify for any benefits from government agencies other than Social Security. Assuming that the $1,165 per month you receive is your Social Security retirement benefit, then about the only way that you might be eligible for anything more from Social Security is if you qualify for benefits on the record of a spouse or former spouse.

If you're married, widowed or divorced from someone to whom you were married for at least 10 years, then you may want to contact Social Security to see if you might be eligible for additional benefits. You could also use our maximization software to explore your options with regard to Social Security, but I can't tell you whether or not that's likely to help you without knowing more about your circumstances.

Best, Jerry
