Can I Pay My Medicare Premium With A One Month Payment?

Part b Medicare premium effective 10-1-22. I am not yet getting social security. The first bill I just received is for 4 Months, October through January 2023. They want the full payment by Oct 25th. I am unable to pay in advance. They offer enrollment in easy pay however the first payment is going to be 3 months. Which I also can't do. Can I make 1 month payment now? Will that cause me to then be considered late? Is there anything I can do to change this to monthly? Can Social security assistant me with this. I am desperate, don't want to do anything that will cause me to lose my benefits. Any help will be very appreciated.

Hi. I'm sorry, but I don't know the answer to that question. Although I'm familiar with the enrollment rules for Medicare, my expertise is limited to Social Security benefits.

If none of the payment options explained on the Medicare.gov website (https://www.medicare.gov/basics/costs/pay-premiums) will work for you, then I would suggest calling Medicare's helpline 800-633-4227.

Best, Jerry
