Can I Do Anything If Social Security Took My Tax Refund?

Ss garnish my wages for an overpayment and took my tax return but hasnt given it back it was a 1500 overpayment made by taking my refund and the last wage garnish happend in tje same week of this year is it normal not be done gave my money back ???

Hi,

I don't know enough about your situation to be of much help. If you think that Social Security has recovered more than the amount you were overpaid and therefore owes you money, you should contact them and request a refund. If you're dissatisfied with their response, you may want to consider contacting the offices of one of your Congressional representatives for help.

Best, Jerry
