Benefit Amount

If I Work 32 Hours A Week For The Next 4 Years Will It Change The Amount That I'd Get From Social Security?

I’ve been working since I was 13 1/2 years old. With a couple of breaks in between because of sickness. For about a year both times I work 40 hours and I’m 66 1/2 years old so I am at retiring age. My question is if I was to go to 32 hours for the next four years till 70 would the amount that I would get from Social Security Change, and if so, approximately how much

Will My Wife's Payment Be Increased If She Delays Receiving Benefits Until After Reaching Full Retirement Age?

my wife born on 1/30/1957, what month she can receive full social security benefit payment, She will use half of my retirement payment instead of her payment which is less, if she chooses to delay to receive the payment will the payment be increased?

Hi. If your wife was born on January 30th 1957, her full retirement age (FRA) for Social Security retirement and spousal benefits is July 2023. Waiting past then to claim spousal benefits would not increase her spousal benefit rate, but would increase her own Social Security retirement benefit rate.

Does The Fact That My FRA Is After Age 66 Mean Smaller Benefits?

I have decided to wait until ago 70 to file for SS benefits, mostly because of the 8% increase gained every year for delayed filing. As the Full Retirement Age gets pushed farther out (mine is 66 and two months) it leaves fewer and fewer years between FRA and age 70.
Does that mean smaller benefits for me compared to those born several years earlier, who have a FRA of 65, who have an additional year of the 8% gain?

Does My Benefit Rate Increase By The COLA And The 8% Yearly Increase?

My wife began taking her full benefits at FRA. I began taking spousal benefits at FRA with the intention of waiting until 70 for mine. We were both born in 1953. I can no longer see what my full benefit will be at 70 at SSA. Can I manually calculate by going back to my FRA benefit? Also, does the benefit increase by the COLA and the 8% yearly increase? OR, can I obtain this amount by contacting SSA? Thanks!

Should I Be Penalized With A Lower Benefit For Selling Assets From My IRA?

Hello Sir,

I'm 78 years old, and last year I purchased a different house to downsize and less stairs. I had to sell some assets from my IRA to procure the house (Approx 150K). In Dec of 2022 I received a notice form SSA stating my benefit was going down over $300 a month because of Selling my IRA assets. I think something was processed wrong with my taxes. Should I be penalized?

Can I Expect My Reconsideration To Be Decided In My Favor?

My social security benefits were calculated January 4/2023, to begin that same month. The estimate of $2976 is exactly the same amount I had been tracking on my online account in December 2022. I have requested a reconsideration beacuse the December online amount which matches the amount on the benefits letter does not reflect the COLA increase. Is my reasoning correct and can I expect a reconsideration in my favor? Thank you
