Larry i am 66 and am receiving ssi benefits if I remarry will I loose any of my money

Hi. If, by SSI, you are referring to Supplemental Security Income (SSI), then yes you might lose some or all of your benefits if you get married. SSI is a needs based benefit, and if an individual is married and residing with their spouse then Social Security considers the income and resources of both members of the couple when determining whether or not they meet the hardship guidelines for SSI payments.

On the other hand, if what you're receiving are Social Security benefits, then getting married wouldn't adversely affect your benefits unless perhaps if you receive disabled adult child's (DAC) benefits on the record of a parent, or a parent's benefit on the record of a deceased child, or divorced spousal benefits on the record of a living ex-spouse.
