The only way that your mother's survivor benefits could be taken away is if her marriage to your father wasn't legal, or if she doesn't meet one of the other requirements for entitlement (https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.04/handbook-0401.html). There isn't enough information in your question for me to be able to give you any specific advice, but if Social Security does stop your mother's benefits she can appeal their determination.
