Can my wife, who was previously married over ten years, collect SS from her x when he dies?
Hi. That would depend on when you and your wife got married. If it was before she turned age 60, then your wife couldn't qualify for survivor benefits on her former spouse's record for as long as your marriage is continuing. But, if you and your wife got married on or after the date your wife reached age 60 then she could potentially qualify for survivor benefits on her ex-spouse's account in the event of his death (https://www.ssa.gov/OP_Home/handbook/handbook.04/handbook-0403.html).
