Can I Draw On My First Husband And How Much Would I Get?

Divorced twice can I draw on first husband and do I have to wait 2 years after Divorce from second husband to draw I will be 62 in February if first husband gets 1600 A month I would 600 how much would I get

Hi. Here's the rule - in order to qualify for divorced spousal benefits, your ex must either be at least age 62 or drawing his benefits, and if he's not drawing benefits then you must have been divorced from that ex for at least 2 years. You also must have been married to your ex for at least 10 years, and you must currently be unmarried. You wouldn't need to be divorced from your second husband for 2 years to potentially be able to draw benefits from your first husband's account, though.

If you do qualify for divorced spousal benefits and if you claim them at age 62 your benefit rate would amount to roughly 65% of your ex's primary insurance amount (PIA). A person's PIA is equal to their Social Security retirement benefit rate if they start drawing their benefits at full retirement age (FRA). But, if you're also eligible for Social Security retirement benefits on your own account then you could only draw the higher of your own amount or your divorced spousal amount.
