Can I Claim Benefits Retroactively To The Month I Turned 70?

I turned 70 effective February 12 of this year and neglected to file for my benefits as I'm still working. When I apply now (June) can I ask for benefits retroactive to that birthday?

Hi,

Yes, you are permitted to claim benefits up to 6 months prior to the month of filing.

Best, Jerry
